New collection “ArmetBox by Cibic”
From the collaboration with the architect Aldo Cibic the new series “ArmetBox by Cibic” is born.
“ArmetBox by Aldo Cibic”
Armet relies on taste, the experience and imagination of the architect Aldo Cibic for the study of the ArmetBox line.
Internationally renowned architect and designer, Aldo Cibic moved to Milan in 1979 to work with Ettore Sottsass, of whom he became a partner the following year. In 1980, again under the guidance of Sottsass, the movement „Memphis“ was born, of which Cibic is one of the designers and founders.
In 1989 he started his own business by founding Cibic & Partners, a studio in which in addition to the personal activity of designer, for his own initiatives and for various companies, he develops an activity in the field of interior and architectural projects, both in Italy and abroad. In 2005 he was Director of the Design Department of Fabrica, Benetton's Communication Research Center, with which he currently collaborates as a Consultant. He also teaches at the Domus Academy, at the Design Faculty of the Politecnico in Milan and at the Degree Course in Industrial Design of the Design Faculty of the University Institute of Architecture in Venice and carries on research activities on the relationship between design and society. In 2017 he joined the Lombardini22 studio by integrating their respective strengths to face the design challenges with an even broader view. He is Honorary Professor at Tongji University in Shanghai. Cibic now lives between Italy and China and in 2019 it was included by Alessandro Mendini, on Domus, in the guide to the best architects in the world ("100+ best architecture firms 2019").
